Introduction to California's Livermore Valley Wine Producing Region

Livermore Valley

[Livermore Map Picture] Located 50 miles east of San Francisco, the Livermore Valley is approximately 15 miles long and ten miles wide. The climate of the Livermore Valley is simular to the Graves district of Bordeaux, France producing excellent Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon grape varieties. The effect of the surrounding mountains and coastal fogs creates individual microclimates within the valley favoring cooler region grapes including Chardonnay and Merlot.
