Welcome to my California Sierra Foothills and Central Valley Wine Touring Guide. The Sierra Foothills wineries are located in Amador, El Dorado, Calaveras, Mariposa, Tuomne, Nevada and Yuba Counties of Northern California. I've also added wineries located in California's Central Valley such as those in the Lodi Appellation to this page.

Relatively isolated from other California wine regions and the ravages of phylloxera, the Sierra Foothills and Amador County in particular has some of the oldest still producing grape vines in some of their old-growth Zinfandel vineyards. The Sierra Foothills and Central Valley with vastly different climates produce very different wines.
